Suffering that is not understood is hard to bear, while on the other hand it is often astounding to see how much a person can endure when he understands the why and the wherefore.

Carl Jung

Bad things happen, we are smashed apart, we rebuild ourselves, we are changed, we move onwards. More often than not we find ourselves improved, we grow, we get stronger, deeper.

Nick Cave

If you get rid of qualities of the Shadow you don’t like by denying them, you become more and more unaware of what you are, you declare yourself more and more non-existent, and your devils will grow fatter and fatter.

Carl Jung

Nothing Missing

All there is, is this one bottomless moment, present experiencing here and now—ever-present, ever-changing. Sometimes it is lit up (in waking and dreaming); sometimes it is dark (in deep sleep). Although darkness and light are different, they are inseparable. This boundless whole is seamless and indivisible…

Nothing Missing

The spiritual world tends to emphasise and strain towards the light and the positive without acknowledging the dark and the negative’s role in making it all possible.

I have no right to call myself one who knows. I was one who seeks, and I still am, but I no longer seek in the stars or in books; I’m beginning to hear the teachings of my blood pulsing within me. My story isn’t pleasant, it’s not sweet and harmonious like the invented stories; it tastes of folly and bewilderment, of madness and dream, like the life of all people who no longer want to lie to themselves.

Hermann Hesse

The key to peace of mind, I say, resides not in practices and paths, but in suffering consciously the ordinary pain, fear, and confusion that come into every life automatically, and differently for each of us.

This right now is it, whether you ‘meditate’ or you don’t. For me, awake means living this right now fully with eyes wide open.
